A-LEVELS
An explanation for our many overseas visitors: A-levels (advanced levels) are a pre-university exam taken at English secondary schools at the age of 18. To take their A-level course, students need to pass their 'GCSE' exams at the age of 16. Students usually take perhaps nine GCSEs and reduce this to four A-levels.
